We sell a range of products which are great for stopping rugs from creeping across the floor. There are different types for rugs sitting on carpet and rugs sitting on hard flooring and both are available in our online store.
We tend not to offer a fitting only service for two main reasons. First, because we only work with products where we’re confident in the quality and from suppliers who offer good aftercare. And second, because of this, we can offer great fitting warranties where we match the length of the manufacturer warranty.
If you’re having new carpet fitted, it makes sense to have the underlay replaced too as it can greatly increase the life of your new carpet. If there are signs of wear in your existing underlay, your carpet will wear unevenly in those areas, which will be noticeable. More modern underlays offer great sound reduction and heat insulation too.
Rugs with natural materials are far less likely to react chemically with your floor’s finish. We also sell rug underlay that can prevent damage to hard flooring.
We’re glad you asked! It’s a common misconception that carpets will always look the same as the day they were fitted, however, this isn’t quite true. Fret not! At Tapi, we aim to provide useful advice that can help improve the appearance of your carpet and its longevity, so you can enjoy that soft luxurious feel for longer.
We’ve outlined lots of useful advice you can take advantage of in order to care for your carpet: Carpet Guide.
We recommend the use of felt pads on the feet of all furniture. Entrance matting is a great way to prevent stones on the bottom of shoes from damaging the floor. Re-oiling of wood floors can also help protect the veneer. All the necessary products for prevention and protection can be purchase from our online store here.
The best option for a pet-friendly carpet is one with a short pile. Loop carpets are a great choice as any pet hair tends to sit on top of the carpet, making it much easier to vacuum. Go for a shorter loop carpet as taller loops can sometimes snag on your pets' claws. A carpet made from 100% polypropylene is stain resistant so any muddy paw prints or little accidents can be easily cleaned up.
Not necessarily. Most LVT manufacturers do not insist on their own brand cleaners and as long as you follow a few simple rules you won’t invalidate your guarantee. Please find our care and maintenance guidelines here and for all the recommended products visit our online shop here.
Not necessarily but you may choose to do so if you are not keen on having scotia beading around the perimeter. This is used to hide the expansion gap required with wood installations. Our team can advise and if you take advantage of a visit from our estimator they can talk you through what is possible and will give the best finish.
For carpet, we need the measurements of the widest and the longest parts of the room. You need to make sure you go into any recesses or alcoves and don’t forget to go to the threshold in the doorway.
For areas having hard flooring, we recommend you let our estimator visit and take measurements. This is because they take into account areas such as fireplaces and it can also be used as an opportunity to assess the subfloor conditions to give an accurate price.
