LVT Flooring

What is LVT?

Luxury Vinyl Tiles at Aztec

LVT is the fastest growing product in flooring. Why? Because it can cope with the demands of modern life while looking like traditional – and more expensive - floor coverings thanks to the innovative designs.

LVT is highly adaptable. It can either be glued down or fitted with floating click installation, which means it really is an option suitable for all projects – even underfloor heating.

The tiles have a pattern printed within the layers for a super-realistic look. Wood plank designs look like natural wood, with images created from pictures of cross sections of actual trees. With its embossed look, giving it texture and depth, wood-effect LVT appeals to those who would love a wood floor without the wood floor price tag or maintenance.

Natural stone designs range from the traditional travertine tile to the modern patterns. They can be fitted with or without grout design strips to give the traditional or bespoke look.

Both wood and stone tiles can be laid in various patterns with a spin on classics such as boardwalk plank or herringbone tile. Victorian, mosaic and 3d designs are also available with many variations. The options are literally endless!

Like with all our flooring options, surface preparation is key to a long-lasting and perfect floor. Aztec Carpets and Flooring takes care of this as part of our professional flooring service.

Our team are on hand to help with any queries.

Benefits of LVT

Our LVT

So what are the benefits of LVT over other types of flooring?

  • It’s extremely hard wearing, durable and perfect for demands of modern day living
  • It’s easy to keep clean with little maintenance. It’s hygienic too
  • Any damaged single planks or tiles are easy to replace
  • It’s warmer underfoot than traditional ceramic or porcelain tiles, and while it can be used with underfloor heating, you may not need it at all!
  • It’s quiet underfoot with no vibration or echo when glued down and with a sound reducing underlay built in with the floating version

Aztec Carpets and Flooring is a registered retailer for both Amtico and Karndean LVT and we have most of their products on display in our showroom. Our team has been fully trained by Amtico and Karndean directly, so you can be sure that the information you are given is accurate.

We also have a select design studio. This lets us show our clients real products and demonstrate laying patterns, stripping options and actual visuals.

FAQ's

Questions Answered

Got a question about LVT, or looking for some cleaning and care tips and techniques? Why not check out our top rated q&a's below...

Do I need a special cleaner for my LVT?

Not necessarily. Most LVT manufacturers do not insist on their own brand cleaners and as long as you follow a few simple rules you won’t invalidate your guarantee. Please find our care and maintenance guidelines here and for all the recommended products visit our online shop here.

What's best for hard wearing hallway, but still give a statement?

Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) are an excellent choice for high-traffic areas such as hallways due to their resilience. These tiles are not only hard-wearing and extremely durable but also scratch-resistant, making them ideal for even the busiest hallways.

Is LVT hard to replace if an area gets damaged?

Individual tiles or planks can be replaced without needing to redo the entire floor. This is a major advantage over sheet vinyl, hardwood or tiles. Professional installers can swap out a damaged tile seamlessly.

LVT, can you give me advice on how to care for my flooring after fitting?

Yes we can. Our staff are very knowledgeable about how to look after the different types of flooring and we have leaflets and/or website links for each manufacturer too. We also sell a wide range of cleaning products in our online shop.
